Every year, Gonaives Christian Mission hosts a Bible Seminar at the Gonaives School from Monday through Thursday, usually around Easter. Classes are offered in evangelism, preaching, and church leadership.
In the evenings, a revival is held in the Gonaives Church with music, singing, and preaching.
This year, over 200 people attended from churches throughout Central Haiti.
To help the members of the church earn a living, GCM offers training in job skills, such as sewing.
Members of several churches in Florida donated and collected 16 sewing machines. Missionary Assistance Partnership packed and shipped them down to Gonaives along with donated clothes that can be worn, altered, or used as fabric.
GCM hopes to collect building and carpentry tools in order to provide job training in building construction.
Marie Jean-Baptiste, Sainsurin's wife, is always cooking. She makes Haitian eggs and coffee for American visitors, she fries bread for communion, and boils big pots of beans and rice for kids in the neighborhood and students at the Bible seminars.
But Marie does much more. She also grows peanuts and buys bags of rice for the poor in Achin. And she and Sainsurin delivered a truck full of goats for the families in Grand L'Eau.
Her prayer is that God will provide support for her efforts to feed homeless kids and the elderly in Gonaives. Will you help?
